About Us
Lost Gold is a dynamic 4-piece rock ensemble emerging from the vibrant landscapes of BC’s West Coast. With a fusion of fuzzed-out guitars, desert rock rhythms, and a hint of Pacific eccentricity, they craft soundscapes that are both expansive and intimate. Their lyrics delve into themes of mental health struggles and a fascination with the paranormal, earning Lost Gold a dedicated underground following. As they continue to evolve, they are poised to become Canada’s next big rock sensation.
Jeff Olyarnyk
Vocals
Jeff Olyarnyk is a prairie born Canadian hailing from Brandon, Manitoba. From a young age music has been a constant in his life. Whether it was country music playing on the radio in the barn, classic rock playing on vinyl in the house, or tunes coming off the cd playing in his discman, he was always singing along or bobbing his head to something. Over the course of his 42 years he honed his singing skills in the car and across karaoke stages in Manitoba and Alberta eventually making his way to Victoria where, in 2013, he met a few like minded rockers and decided to form a band. It was in the band "IT" where he met now bandmate Joel Bossy who he would go on with to form the band "Lost Gold."
Joel Bossy
Guitar/Backing Vocals
Joel Bossy was born in Ridgetown, ON, the youngest of 3, obsessed with the Beach Boys at birth. Always drawn to music, specifically the art of song writing, Lost Gold began as a cover band, for an hour. Having served 16 years in the Canadian Forces, he is the bands veteran, youngest member, and founder. He does not shy from his experiences with recovery, treatment centres, grief, and struggles with mental health, all of which can be heard in the bands song writing. Always encouraging an open forum approach to the bands direction, every part is equal in the bands dynamic.
Jeff Marchi
Drums/Backing Vocals
Born and raised in the mountain town of Rossland, BC, Jeff Marchi is a Canadian drummer who brings decades of rhythm, heart, and curiosity to the stage. A lifelong educator with a Master’s in Curriculum Studies, he balances careers in English and Leadership with his passion for music. Behind the kit since age 7—when he got his first snare—he’s a seasoned veteran of garage jams, theatre pits, and everything in between. Though fluent in many styles, his roots are firmly planted in rock. Offstage, he’s a dedicated golfer, cyclist, world traveler, and psychonaut—always chasing the next groove, adventure, or idea.
Tyson Bailey
Bass Guitar
Born and raised in Victoria BC Tyson has a passion for bass, BBQ, and beasts. He wields a custom downtuned “whiskey” Thunderbird to deliver bold and growling low end compliment to the rhythm section. Robot precision and steely demeanour on stage, he loves to show up and rock hard at every opportunity. A veteran on the Victoria music scene he has played in several original bands over the past decade bringing booming bass to whoever can handle it. Off hours are spent hiking with the dog, grilling various meats, or lurking in his basement messing around on guitar, ukulele, and keys.
"The gold inside you is never lost. Even through Darkness, sorrow, and struggle, it remains. Lost Gold is the voice that reminds us that pain can still create beauty, that shadows can still carry light. What is broken is not gone - it is waiting to be found, re-forged, and released. We are the proof that even in the heaviest riffs and darkest songs, there is treasure hidden deep within. Lost Gold is not just a band - it is the call to search, to endure, and to rise. Find the gold. It was never gone."
